Vinni Corrêa is a Brazilian poet, visual artist, journalist, post graduate in psychoanalysis, and an erotologist. Born in Rio de Janeiro and based in São Paulo, he is the curator of the porn art project and movement called Obscenografica and author of four books of erotic poetry: Coma de 4 (2012); Literatura de Bordel (2015); Lunch Box (2015); and Sexo a Três (2018).

In 2012 he created an erotic poetry slam called Fresta Literária – sarrau de poesia erótica. In 2015 it appeared on Sex in The World’s Cities (Rio de Janeiro – S01E14), a TV serie documentary produced by Ladybirds Films and exhibited on Paris Première channel.

The poet works the discontinuity of obceneity in language, eliminating any taboo imposed on objects by breaking arbitrariness, the fixed relation defined between a word and its image, and does it using pun, questioning the rigidity in the meaning that society gives to things and why it affirms a content as obscene, thus proposing not only a reinvention of language but also the reinvention of the erotic. The disturbing effect in his work is much more in the metaphors produced than in the official image attributed to profanity.

Provocative and disturbing, Vinni Corrêa turns his art into a weapon of fiction against the fixation of the body and sex. He does not believe that the definitions imposed by nature and reproduced by society should be seen as immutable. For the artist, it doesn't matter how we were born, but how we want to be. He believes that although the body has its genetic and social definitions, we can make it the way we want, especially with the help of technology. We wear clothes, we use tattoos and piercings, we implant silicone in the breasts and butts, we improve the vision with glasses and contact lenses, we take drugs to improve the physical and mental performance, in short, we transform our machine internally and externally ... Vinni's art has no body. On paper, paints and other elements, only the materialization of the desires of the human mind transported to what the imagination and dreams want to achieve. Although many of these desires are unfulfilled in the current circumstances, the possibility of their being fulfilled in the very distant or not-so-distant future. The human being was not born with wings and still wanted to fly. And, in his own way, he did it. So dream freely that one day it could come true. Perhaps one day science will be able to change the determinations of chromosomes and make an XY chromosome become XX, and vice versa, or create new formations. Whatever! For now we are going to make this real in art, an art without any kind of limit. Contest human nature! Artificialism is our nature.
